As an evangelical Christian, early on I didn't object to the death penalty (DP) in general, but as I've grown as a Christian & in awareness of the problems of the "criminal justice" system,I've become increasingly tentative about the DP , and am almost at the point of saying it is wrong altogether . Ironically, for Christians, death is not to be feared, even if we don't seek it any way (as do some extreme muslims who think that they will be rewarded for killing & dying in the process). We just are comforted by the fact that if we believe in Jesus & have the fruits of the Spirit,we will be in heaven after death (or purgatory,if u believe in such). However, those on death row may or may not have converted to Christianity before they die . They should be given every chance to become Christian and live as Christians before they die,no matter how heinous their crime may be.Let God be the judge & executioner.

THIS BEGAN as a prayer site for our prisoners in general, but I am also adding "death row" prisoners in specific..after hearing a few stories about persons on death row wrongly convicted.., and also about "zealous prosecutors" not concerned about false convictions..but simply getting convictions, true or false. Let us remain conscientious about false convictions, zealous prosecutors, and all things related; as well as care & prayer for those who were rightly convicted.
